Blackjack uses one or more decks and the goal is to reach 21 without busting. Face cards are worth ten and an Ace can count as 11 or 1 depending on the situation. The aim is to beat the dealer with a higher hand that stays within 21.

Optimal basic strategy guide
Hard totals are hands where an Ace isn’t counted as 11, and strategy depends on the upcard. For hard totals of 12 through 16, stand on 2–6 and hit otherwise. These rules form the basis of disciplined play.
Soft totals use an Ace counted as 11. For soft 13–18, adapt the move to the dealer’s upcard. Doubling or splitting can improve the hand when favorable.
